St.Giles Reading Spine

This is an inclusive list of texts and books that form the foundations for learning at our school. Great stories speak to us as readers and learners and spark our imagination. These texts and stories will form our core list for close study, guided reading and class stories for the end of the day. We aim to immerse our children into these texts through imaginative conversation, poetry, drama and other meaningful experiences. We have also considered how we are creating opportunities for children to explore the world of 'Modern Britain' through literature.
